IDBF Changes Focus to Better Serve Members!

Unprecedented growth of sport cited as reasoning...

September 15, 2003 -- The IDBF has begun a USA national campaign to form local leagues.

"The growth is unbelievable and we have been unable to keep up with the hundreds of independent tournaments", stated Ferdie Walker, VP of development for the IDBF.

"We will begin the push to develop a hierarchical league system where each state will have a state commissioner who will set up districts then locals-- it will be much like youth baseball is now. This will allow us to work on what we are best at- that's standardizing and promoting the sport we all love!"

The IDBF has always sanctioned individual tournament play in the past. League play was independent and not under the sanctioning arm of the Federation. This new focus is a major step in the evolution of the sport and is looked to further enhance the sport's appeal.

People interested in acting as commissioners are encouraged to email Ferdie Walker at ferdie@dodge-ball.com to apply.

The IDBF is not scheduled to begin individual league development outside the US until 2005 unless demand otherwise dictates it.
